Double Ribbon Cutting in Steiner Ranch Celebrates Two Thriving Local Businesses
April 28, 2026 | Austin, TX - If you want to see the heart of the Steiner Ranch and Four Points Austin community in action, this was it. Neighbors, business leaders and families gathered as Old Saigon Vietnamese Bistro and Hearts and Minds Learning Center came together to host a joint ribbon-cutting celebration—marking six months of success for Old Saigon and one year of impact for Hearts and Minds at their Steiner Ranch location.
The West Austin Chamber of Commerce joined in the celebration. The event was a reflection of what makes West Austin’s business community so unique.
A Community That Shows Up
From the moment guests arrived, one thing was clear: this wasn’t just a business event. It was a gathering of people who genuinely care about each other.
“This is a great event to bring together the entire community,” one attendee shared.
That sense of connection carried throughout the event, from conversations between neighbors to the visible support for two businesses that have quickly become staples in the Steiner Ranch area.
Mike Staples, board member of the West Austin Chamber of Commerce and owner of The Roof Resource, summed it up well:
“We're celebrating growth - and we're happy to do that with our friends, family and neighbors— thank you from the West Austin Chamber of Commerce.”
Old Saigon Vietnamese Bistro: Built on Food, Family and Connection
Located in the heart of Steiner Ranch, Old Saigon Vietnamese Bistro has quickly earned a reputation for both its food and its hospitality. As a family-owned restaurant, their focus goes beyond what’s on the plate. Every dish is freshly prepared using high-quality ingredients, but what keeps people coming back is the feeling they get when they walk through the door.
“Thank you to the friends and neighbors that came out,” said Chrissy Bui, manager of Old Saigon.
“We’d love to see you all again.”
The combination of authentic Vietnamese cuisine and genuine warmth that’s helping Old Saigon become a go-to gathering place in Four Points Austin.
Hearts and Minds Learning Center: Changing the Way Students Learn
Right next door, Hearts and Minds Learning Center is making a different kind of impact. One that’s measured in confidence as much as academics.
Founded by longtime educator Janet Alexander, the center was built on a simple but powerful idea: every child learns differently, and they deserve to be taught in a way that works for them.
With a heart-centered, data-driven approach, Hearts and Minds provides intervention-based tutoring for students in grades K–12. The results speak for themselves. Students typically improve by 1–2 grade levels within just a few months.
But for Janet, it goes deeper than numbers.
“To all of you who trusted your babies to me, I love you guys dearly,” she shared.
“We have served 2,200 kids to date and our next goal is 22,000 kids.”
She also took a moment to recognize those who supported her early on, including a longtime friend who encouraged her to pursue her vision.
“You guys are my family. Thank you for believing in me.”
It’s that combination of purpose and personal connection that led Hearts and Minds to be named Best Tutoring Company at the 2026 Best of West Austin Awards.
What This Means for Steiner Ranch and Four Points Austin
Events like this don’t just celebrate milestones. They highlight momentum.
They show what happens when:
