Double the Celebration: Life’s Just Taxing & Schooley Mitchell Cut the Ribbon in West Austin
The West Austin Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to host a double ribbon cutting celebration for two of our newest members — Life’s Just Taxing and Lizz Ponce with Schooley Mitchell — bringing together fellow members, friends, and community partners for an evening full of connection, collaboration, and local flavor.
Guests gathered to raise a glass (or two) with signature drinks — “The Write-Off” and “The Savings Solution” — crafted by Good Time Social, alongside bites from Kale Me Crazy, Sabalicious Wings, and Dominican Delights ATX.
Helping Businesses Save and Thrive
As North America’s largest independent cost-reduction consulting firm, Schooley Mitchell specializes in helping businesses cut unnecessary costs and operate more efficiently. Local consultant Lizz Ponce shared,
“It’s truly exciting to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of Schooley Mitchell here in Austin. For those not familiar with us, we make sure your systems aren’t overpaying for the services you use every day. We are completely independent, which means our only goal is to help local businesses save money, run more efficiently, and keep more resources right here in our community.”
Right alongside that mission, Kaya Klotzek, owner of Life’s Just Taxing, provides a full range of accounting and tax services — including bookkeeping, payroll, budgets, and financial projections — to help clients reach their financial goals.
“I am your tax expert,” Kaya shared. “We strategize with the community for tax savings — if you’re interested in putting more money back into your pocket or keeping more from going out in taxes, that’s where we can help. Life is taxing, and we’re here to make it less taxing.”
Kaya also offers free initial consultations and a referral bonus program, making it easier for local businesses to take the next step toward financial clarity and confidence.
Community at the Core
During the celebration, Nicole Tomaszewski, Executive Director of the West Austin Chamber of Commerce, spoke to the heart of why ribbon cuttings matter:
“These events are amazing because we get to give them a boost — give them an introduction officially to the community. So thank you all for being here to support them. That’s what it’s all about. We all need camaraderie and support from our neighbors to make our businesses successful.”
The evening perfectly captured the Chamber’s mission: connecting local businesses, celebrating their successes, and strengthening the West Austin community — one ribbon cutting at a time.
